Working through bombs, bullets and barricades, and the turmoil of the Troubles in the seventies, Gloria soon became a firm fixture on both radio and TV, especially with her nightly show, Good Evening Ulster. It wasn't long before Gloria's charm, wit and tenacity were spotted over the Irish sea, becoming the first ever woman to have a daily radio programme in 1982, presenting on BBC Radio 2 continuously for the next 13 years. She was then offered her first chat show and Sunday, Sunday launched her into the homes of millions of people, as she interviewed some of the greatest stars of our time, including Bette Davis, Charlton Heston, Doris Day, Audrey Hepburn and Sean Connery. Since then, Gloria's career has blossomed, and she has become widely regarded as one of the most respected names in the industry. And with her extremely moving and sentimental account of her daughter's battle with cancer - in the best-selling books Next To You and Always With You - Gloria has sealed her reputation as one of the nation's most respected writers and commentators.

More recently known for being a panellist on Loose Women and presenting the daily BBC consumer programme Rip-Off Britain, she has entered the hearts of the nations and will continue to do so for years to come.

About the Author: Gloria Hunniford OBE is one of the most prolific and talented British broadcasters, with a career spanning seven decades. In 1982 she became the first woman to have her own daily radio show on BBC Radio 2, which she presented continuously for 13 years - and she was one of the first female broadcasters to host her own chat show with the highly successful, Sunday, Sunday.

Gloria currently presents the BBC consumer programme Rip-Off Britain. She regularly appears on This Morning and The One Show as well as being one of the current presenters of Loose Women for ITV. She has won many prestigious awards during her long career, and became OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List 2017. In the same year, Gloria was nominated for a Broadcast Award in the Best Daytime Programme category for her exclusive interview with Sir Cliff Richard after he was exonerated from unfounded charges. Other awards include TV Personality of the Year, Radio Personality of the Year and Best Dressed Female, as well as the Television and Radio Industries Club Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001.

She is a patron of a number of charities and dedicates much time to the causes she supports including the one closest to her heart, The Caron Keating Foundation, which Gloria founded in honour of her daughter Caron who passed away in 2004 after a seven-year battle with breast cancer; a foundation that supports all types of cancer charities across the country.
